Ethiopian Art Gallery Collaboration – A Personal Invitation to Discover Adulis

A 6-Year Dream Now Ready to Share: Adulis Ethiopian Art

Dear Friends and Family,

I don’t usually send emails like this. But this one means a lot to me.

For the past 6 years, I’ve been quietly building something — a dream to help bring Ethiopian art to the global stage. Not by waiting for museums or art gatekeepers, but by creating our own platform, where Ethiopian artists speak directly to the world through their own vision and voice.

Today, that dream has a name: Adulis Ethiopian Art.

We named it after Adulis, the ancient Red Sea port that connected Ethiopia to the world 3,000 years ago. At that time, Ethiopia was one of the most powerful empires on Earth — a history rarely told but deeply worth remembering.

Our Mission: A Modern-Day Art Renaissance

Adulis is here to revive that legacy.

Our goal is simple but powerful: to be the modern port through which Ethiopia’s finest artists step onto the global stage — sharing their culture, beauty, and stories with the world.

This project isn’t just about selling art. It’s about cultural exchange, legacy revival, and economic opportunity.

We are launching our first curated collection — 10 masterworks by Ethiopian artists, each one available as a signed and numbered limited edition (100 prints per work). These museum-quality prints are more than decorative; they are stories, identities, and overlooked histories finally coming into view.

Why This Email — and Why Now

Because you’ve supported me. Because you’ve believed in me. Because I want you to be part of this — however that looks for you.

Whether that means:

  • Visiting the website and exploring the work
  • Forwarding this to someone who loves meaningful art
  • Helping us connect with curators, galleries, or press
  • Or just replying to say: “I see you. Keep going.”

Every bit of support means everything.

Thank you for being in my life. Thank you for helping build a bridge between what was and what can be.

Warmly,

Dejene Hodes
Founder, Adulis Ethiopian Art

P.S. If you’re curious, visit the collection here and tell me if a piece speaks to you. I’d love to know.
